When the orchestra played “We Will Rock You” at the Walkathon closing ceremonies, they weren’t kidding.
Wow! Our 6th Annual Walkathon was a huge success thanks to the collective efforts of our Kennedy Community School families and friends! More than $20,000 was raised and will directly support field trips for all grade levels, classroom wish lists, and technology and equipment investments. What makes this event so special is that every amount counts, and 100% of profits are invested in our kiddos’ learning experience.
So many thanks are in order!
First, thanks to our fearless volunteer coordinators Melissa Granowski and Sara Boleyn for your leadership.
Thanks to our Walkathon committee as well: Aurora Adamson, Barb Gabler, Jennifer Jones, Kelli Maurer, Jon Ritter, and Jennifer Salzer.
Thanks to our counting queen, PTA Treasurer Nicole Folkerts.

Thanks to all Kennedy teachers and staff who inspired healthy competition, encouraged students to participate, collected envelopes and joined in the fun.
And last, but certainly not least, thanks to the many local businesses that supported this event with financial and in-kind donations: Aubright, Inc, Auto Body 2000, Bernick’s, Borgert Products, Carlin Stiles, Casey’s General Stores, Dr. Styles & Cotton P.A., Floral Arts, Gary’s Pizzeria of St. Joseph, Heartland Door Sales, JM Companies, John Kuebelbeck /Post 328, Laser Dentistry, Precise Refrigeration Heating & A/C, Scheels, Sliced on College Ave, Sisters of the Order of St. Benedict, St. Cloud Optimist Club, St. Joseph Jaycees, St. Joseph Meat Market, and SuperAmerica.
Please thank these businesses and organizations by your patronage or by giving them a shout out when you encounter them.
Finally — If I forgot to mention someone, please let me know. This event would not happen without the commitment of so many, and we are so appreciative.
